Entry Information

  • Submission of Entries:   Two paintings from each artist may be submitted in either “Established Artist “or “Emerging Artist” category, on the CTPS website www.centexpastel.com. This is a non-juried show: first come, first served. The first 50 artists who apply will each have one painting in the show. After the deadline, if we don’t have 50 paintings, the remaining paintings will be chosen from the second entry from each artist, in the order received. Please indicate 1st and 2nd choice when entering your pieces.
  • Cost to enter:   $30 non-refundable fee 
  • Payment method:   Once you have submitted paintings online, you will receive an email from Exhibit Chairman Jan Frazier with a link to pay online as well as instructions if paying by check.
  • Photographs of work:  Once you have submitted paintings online, you will receive an email from Exhibit Chairman Jan Frazier regarding how to submit an image of your entry(s). If this is a problem please contact chairman for help,
  • Promotion:   By entering the exhibition and competition, you agree to allow your work to be displayed on the CTPS website and by Artwork's marketing and social media.


Eligibility

  • Open to all paid members of Central Texas Pastel Society. Dues for the upcoming 2022–2023 year must be paid prior to entry. 
  • EMERGING ARTIST LEVEL – In the early stages of your art careeer, still honing your style. May have landed some recognition, but not a higher-level award (Best of Show, 1st, 2nd or 3rd place) and have  not achieved signature status with a  national organization.
  • ESTABLISHED ARTIST LEVEL – Those who are not Emerging Artists.
  • All entries must be original. Source material must be available.
  • Art based on another artist's work, published material, or another person's photograph, even if copyright free, is ineligible.
  • Paintings must be done without supervision.
  • No workshop or class art.
  • All work must have been completed in the last two years and never shown at a CTPS competition.
  • Paintings that have won an award from another group (Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd places) are not eligible.
  • Paintings must be 80% or more pastel. No oil pastels.
  • Paintings must be framed under glass, wired with D-rings and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers. If you re framing with a mat, only neutrals should be used.
  • Place a label on the back of the painting: Artist name, title of work, and your sales price. Please note that a 50% commission will be taken from your sale price. Example: If you put $200 on your piece, the gallery will keep $100.
  • CTPS reserves the right to reject any artwork that fails to meet these guidelines.
