Theme: Our theme "Drawn to Morning Light" can encompass landscapes, cityscapes, people, animals, plants, activities, still life, etc. in the morning light. What is your favorite thing about morning?
Competition: Three paintings can be submitted. This is a non-juried show: first come, first served. Your first piece is guaranteed to be exhibited. The second and possibly third will be chosen according to the order received.
How to Enter: To register for the show, fill out and submit Entry Form below. Entries are accepted between September 8th and November 1st.
Cost to Enter: $35 nonrefundable fee for first two pieces plus $10 for the third.
Payment Method: Once you have submitted the competition Entry Form, Exhibit Chairman Jan Frazier will send you a link to pay online or to pay by check.
Photographs of work: Once you have submitted the competition Entry Form, you will also receive instructions regarding how to submit an image of your entry(s). If this is a problem, please contact Jan for help. (Her email is listed below.) Please photograph your painting before framing it.
Promotion: By entering the exhibition and completion, you agree to allow your work to be displayed on the CTPS website and by Georgetown Public Library for marketing and social media.
Eligibility:
• Open to all paid members of Central Texas Pastel Society. Dues must be paid at the time of entry. The deadline for dues is September 1st.
• All entries must be original. Source material must be available
• Art based on another artist work, published material, or another person’s photograph, even if copyright free, is ineligible.
• Paintings must be done without supervision.
• Painting created in a class or workshop are not eligible.
• All work must have been done in the past two years and never shown at a CTPS competition.
• Paintings that have won an award from another group (Best of show,1st,2nd or 3rd places, are not eligible.
• Paintings must be 80% or more pastel. No oil pastels.
• Paintings must be framed under glass, wired and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers. Only neutral mats should be used.
• Place a label on the back of the painting: Artist name, name of piece, price
CTPS reserves the right to reject any artwork that fails to meet these guidelines.
All reasonable care will be taken with entrants' paintings. However, neither CTPS, nor CTPS Board of Directors and volunteers, nor the employees of Tiemann Art Gallery are responsible for loss or damage to your paintings, however caused. Your entry constitutes agreement with this understanding. It is recommended that you carry your own insurance.
