ZOOM meeting
Come paint this colorful donkey with us on Saturday, May 21, at 1pm CT. Register EARLY to have time to prep your drawing. I will send you the Zoom invitation, the reference photo, some surface prep info, some tips that include alternative underpainting methods in case you don't have what I use, and even a line drawing that you can use to transfer to your board or paper in case you don't have time to freehand your drawing. No drawing skills required! More details here.
All registrants will receive a link to the video a few days later, so if you have to miss part, no worries!
The Plein Air Convention this May in Santa Fe is coming up soon . I will be giving two demos at the Convention . One will be in Pastel and the second will be with oils. Details for the two demos is included in this news letter (contact Albert). To sign up for either or both, contact the Plein Air Convention directly.
I hope you do. For both pastels and/or oils—For both subjects I have a very direct method to show you from start to finish…. After the block in, I paint from the center of interest out. To finish, I paint as always from dark to light and use the art of lost and found edges to obtain space and atmosphere. This technique simplifies the painting process and gets you there more directly.

You may attend a meeting and decide if it is for you. We think you will do so because it is a fun and enthusiastic membership!
Each meeting has a simple format - news about opportunities for showing our art, workshops being hosted by CTPS or by other organizations, and general discussions and knowledge sharing about best practices. Following this part of the meeting, a demonstration is given on various topics from pastel painting techniques to marketing tips.
