    John Howell Mini-Workshop

    1. We will work from Photographs--John will supply photographs for the afternoon mini workshop.  Photos should be at least 8 x 10 in size.   Students can also bring their own photos if they desire - portrait, landscape, animal, etc.  Students may send photos to "john@cordovanartschool.com" prior to the workshop, and I can give them feedback on if the photograph is a good one to work from.
    2. Supply list: students should bring their own pastel set, any brand is fine. John will provide pastels for anyone who doesn't have their own set. John's preferred brands: Stabillo Carbothello pastel pencils for detail work; Gallery--semi hard pastel sticks for bigger pastel paintings.
    3. PLEASE SIGN-UP FOR THE WORKSHOP BELOW. Once you sign up, Jan Frazier will let you know if the workshop is still open and give you payment information.  Thanks!

Rita Kirkman "Lovey the Dove" Paint-Along

Zoom event on Saturday, Feb 19, 2022:

Come paint this lovely dove with us!  Register EARLY to have time to prep your drawing. I will send you the Zoom invitation, the reference photo, some surface prep info, some tips that include alternative underpainting methods in case you don't have what I use, and even a line drawing that you can use to transfer to your board or paper in case you don't have time to freehand your drawing. No drawing skills required!

I will be using pastel with an acrylic-based underpainting, but you can use the medium of your choice. I’ve had some attendees enjoy use oil, acrylic, pastel pencil, and even watercolor with my paint-alongs. It’s whatever you want to make of it, and plenty of instruction will focus on values and temperature which are universal to all color mediums.

(PS: Registration includes a link to the video which will be ready just a few days later! So if you must skip out early, or come in late, no worries!)

Prospectus for CTPS fall Exhibit and Competition — Oct 6 to Dec 10, 2022

This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.

Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.

Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.

Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.

Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
